The Tascam DR-40 Portable Digital Recorder offers the flexibility to record how you want, anywhere you want, with a collection of features that include mics that are adjustable from XY to AB, four-track recording, and a battery life of over 20 hours.
The Tascam DR40 Portable Digital Recorder's built-in, high-quality condenser stereo microphones give you the ability to record with tight imaging in XY position or in AB position, to capture a wider ambient sound. As it has the capability to record up to four simultaneous tracks you can also add two additional sound sources from the two locking Neutrik XLR/TRS combo jacks, which accommodate either XLR mics or line inputs. These jacks are equipped with Tascam microphone preamps that welcome condenser microphones with phantom power, and record at up to 96kHz/24-bit resolution.
Recordings can be saved to SD or SDHC memory cards up to 32GB in size, and the Tascam DR 40 Portable Digital Recorder comes supplied with a 2GB SD card. You can transfer your recordings to your computer either straight from the DR-40 via the included mini USB cable or by removing the SD card and using a card reader (not included).
A plethora of options are available to you through the Tascam DR-40's easy-to-use interface, giving you professional recording with very little effort. You have EQ and Level Align (to avoid volume jumps) available to you during playback, along other features, such as a stereo reverb effect, a built-in speaker, chromatic tuner, an overdub mode, variable speed playback, and limiting and low cut filter, amongst many more.
